The ultimate showdown fight at the end of Diablo 3 had the Prime Evil angry and frustrated just before it died by our hands. ![]() This is also why I could never bring myself to buy the Diablo 3 expansion, because as the Nephalem, we had enough power to defeat the sum total of all evil. She then gave birth to the Nephalem and wanted to protect them. Lilith hated Hell and made Sanctuary to escape it all. And now, they choose to bring the most benevolent (but admittedly tricksy) of all demons back who couldn't possibly stand up to a nephalem. We didn't understand the story, and every corner was pitch black. In the beginning, Diablo was terror of the unknown. Unfortunately, they did not think about the story, the lore, and the original reason why Diablo invoked terror. You might ask "How?! Didn't they use blood, altars, sacrifices, human flesh, eerie voices, dread-inducing music and a scary demon at the end?" Despite it being a cinematic masterpiece, I don't think whoever came up with this idea fully understands what Diablo is, or rather was, about.ĭiablo was a game about Terror, and they have missed the mark again.
